Elaine joined Sande 2 years ago after a 25 year career in the music and television industry. Her work included finance management, performance, training and scriptwriting. “Television has taught me to be productive in a fast moving industry, but to have fun at the same time.” “The process of bringing Sande into the position of the foremost NDT Training School in the country with our wonderful team is very exciting. Greg joined S.A.N.D.E. in 2008 bringing with him a solid background of experience in sales, marketing and business management in the pharmaceutical industry. His IMM qualification is being well used in forward planning, motivation and inspiration in the school.
Has attained Level 2 in all five main methods. Qualified Aircraft Mechanic. Experience in Mining, Marine, Refineries, Railways, Construction, Maintenance, Aviation and general industry.
Has attained Level III in MT, RT & UT.
14 years in NDE, 6 years instructing.
Brian underwent NDT training at SANDE in 1986 coming from a mining, marine and transportation background.
Since then he has become a registered SAQA NDT Assessor and a certified NDT moderator. He is also SETA accredited.
Brian’s passion is education and steam trains. He gives his time to Friends of the Rail and ROVOS Rail to oversee and advise them on any NDT requirements.
Brian assists SANDE with freelance lecturing and shares his many years of experience freely with students and lecturers alike.

Started NDT, during university studies in 1969.
Worked throughout Europe with some Far East and North Africa exposure until 1985. All industries except aircraft and submarines.
Joined Eskom (Power Generation-coal/oil/gas/hydro/nuclear) in 1985 via French nuclear programme.
Current ASNT L111 UT/RT/PT/MT (83916). Hoping to add ET and VT soon. (includes ACCP,ISO and EN).
Former qualifications include CSWIP/CEGB/SSEB/British Gas/SAQCC.
Garth has been in the NDT industry since 1978. His main focus has been in the aerospace industry: military and commercial.
Today he is the responsible Level III for Denel Saab Aerostructures and heads up a team of 7 NDT personnel involved in both metallic and composite inspection of newly manufactured aircraft parts.
Garth is an avid fisherman and also manufactures inflatable boats in his spare time. His goal one day is to design and build his own house boat and disappear down the Zambezi.
The ASNT Southern Africa Section is delighted to have such a prominent NDT figure on board as our Chairman while he is still with us on land.
